Staying Silence

Silence comes swooping down, making its presence known
Words fight a battle ground, weary, tired, torn.
Feeding on the carrion, silence stays a while
Nothing more that words can say, could salvage some pride

The day has come as in prophesy, as if an impending curse
The words just freeze in mid air, stalling a verse
Silence smiles a secret smile, as if a battle won
Silence is so staying, heavy - weighing a ton.
